Coding Query Process

Coding queries are to be submitted to the QCC secretary via email, mail, 2 weeks before the QCC meeting;
The QCC Secretary will collate and distribute the queries to the QCC members for comment on the Friday 2 weeks before the meeting;
The QCC members will send back their comments by the Thursday 1 week before the meeting;
The QCC Secretary will collate and distribute the responses, agenda and minutes to the QCC members 3 days before the QCC meeting;
After the meeting , staff in DSU will meet to discuss and finalise the QCC responses;
Queries may be forwarded onto the NCCH and the Aust Dept of Health and Ageing;
The current months coding queries and the previous months minutes will be distributed to Clinical Coders and HIM's within 1 week after the meeting;
The coding query spreadsheet and the previous months minutes will be updated on the QCC website on a monthly basis.
