Welcome to the Practice Supervision Resource Centre for Mental Health Services. The role of the Centre is to promote and assist in sustaining the implementation of the Queensland Health Practice Supervision for Mental Health policy. The Centre aims to provide information, support and guidance relevant to practice supervision which will be useful to both supervisees and supervisors. This is achieved through encouraging and supporting the provision of effective practice supervision for all Queensland Health Mental Health clinical staff. Supervision policy The Queensland Centre for Mental Health Learning in conjunction with the Allied Health Supervision Steering Committee is currently reviewing and updating the Practice Supervision Training Program and Supervision Resource Centre. It is expected that this review will generate significant changes to Supervision Resource Centre and available resources over the coming months. The primary goal of this review is to ensure the delivery of current best-practice standards for practice supervision and to support Allied Health Supervisors and Supervisees in achieving effective supervision outcomes. | Supervision policy The development and implementation of the Queensland Health policy 'Practice Supervision in Allied Mental Health' arose from the EBIII agreement (1998). This initiative was a direct response to staff concerns about limited access to supervision and career structure opportunities within the Allied Health Mental Health Service workforce. It is recognised that difficulties may sometimes arise in supervision relationships. The following resources offer advice, information and guidance about strategies and procedures which could be employed, by both supervisees and supervisors, to address such difficulties. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - DISCIPLINARY POLICY Clarifies the processes which must be followed to address situations in which an employee's behaviour is deemed unacceptable. The Employee Asistance Scheme is available to all staff to assist staff to resolve personal and work related problems, and to assist managers and supervisors with developing and implementing effective staff management strategies.
