To enhance and support the sustainability of rural medical practices and promote excellent through integrated medical practices and training.

As an agency of Queensland Health, Queensland Country Practice (QCP) will work with Health Districts' rural and remote facilities with a priority to address immediate workforce improvement opportunities. The longer term focus of QCP is to improve the sustainability of medical services in rural and remote centres. QCP provides a range of client-focused workforceand business services, including a comprehensive rural medical relieving service.

• to improve the quality of medical services available in rural and remote communities;
• to have doctors available where they are needed;
• to improve the efficiency of rural medical service delivery;
• to improve support and development opportunities for the rural medical workforce, and
• to provide practical assistance and strategic advice that enables rural health practitioners to meet the needs of their community.
