Medication Services Queensland: Medicines and Pharmacy Services Unit
Role

Provide an expert professional advisory service on issues relating to pharmacy and pharmaceuticals and represent Queensland Health on relevant national committees/working parties.

Coordinate a range of pharmaceutical services including the Queensland Hospitals Drug Advisory Committee, the Pharmacy Advisory Committee, the Hospital Pharmacy Advisory Committee, the Queensland Drug Information Centre and the Queensland Poisons Information Centre.

Manage a range of pharmaceutical programs including the Highly Specialised Drugs Program, pharmacy aspects of Queensland Health scholarships program (in association with the Rural Health Unit, and particularly the pre-registration training component of that program).

Coordinate the development and application for Queensland Health, of national and international guidelines/policies especially through the National Coordinating Committee on Therapeutic Goods.
