Medication Services Queensland

Medication Services Queensland is improving the quality, safety and effectiveness of medication management in Queensland through the provision of patient-centred services.

Objectives

Ensure a sufficient supply of suitably trained health practitioners.
Engage district health services in adopting strategies that will provide a safe and effective medication management system.
In collaboration with stakeholders, implement policies and procedures that ensure the adoption of best practice in medication management.
Provide an effective, efficient, and timely pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply, and a dental materials supply service to all Queensland hospitals and clinics.
Provide policy advice to the Minister, Director General and Queensland Health officials on medication management.

QHDAC update

From June 2009 the Standard Drug List (SDL) for Queensland hospitals will be known as the Queensland Health List of Approved Medicines (LAM).

In conjunction, the Queensland Hospitals Drug Advisory Committee (QHDAC) will be known as the Queensland Health Medicines Advisory Committee (QHMAC).
