Clinical and Statewide Services: Coordination Planning and Research Unit

We provide advice and assistance to researchers located within Clinical and Statewide Services (CaSS) and individuals who wish to conduct research using CaSS resources.

CaSS Authorisation to Proceed is required when risk or accountability lies with a department in CaSS. This is required for any research project using information for which CaSS (including Pathology Queensland, Forensic and Scientific Services, Medication Services Queensland and other branches of CaSS) is the data custodian for or any research project involving CaSS staff or resources.

Clinical trials and studies requesting only pathology testing that is part of the usual treatment for enrolled patients does not require CaSS Authorisation to Proceed, they will however require approval from the Senior Director of Pathology Queensland.
