Clinical and Statewide Services: Telehealth
Telehealth is an extension of the way we can communicate with patients, nurses, doctors and other specialists by using in most cases videoconferencing (that is basically a TV screen and a digital video camera). Telehealth allows patients in rural and remote locations to talk to and see a health professional from any hospital in Queensland, without the need to travel too far from home.
The Statewide Telehealth Services team are responsible for the coordination and standardised delivery of Telehealth initiatives throughout Queensland Health.
