Changing the pay date

The pay date change project is now complete. Any queries should continue to be directed to Payroll teams or the Statewide Hotline on 1800 239 074, or ask your line manager for assistance.

In October 2012, Queensland Health changed the pay date by one week. Staff are now paid 10 days after the end of the roster period, rather than three days.

Changing the pay date was an important step to improving staff pays by allowing enough time to submit, approve and process payroll forms before the pay run commences. Therefore pays will better reflect what an employee has worked in the roster period. This should reduce the amount of prior period adjustments needed each fortnight. All staff will be paid for every day they work - the pay date change means staff are paid one week later, not one week less.
