Welcome to the Queensland Health Victim Support Service website.

Our Mission:

Leading, coordinating and developing state wide services and programs to meet the needs of victims of mentally ill offenders

If you or someone you know is a victim of an offence where the person has been diverted to the forensic mental health system from the criminal justice system, you can contact the Queensland Health Victim Support Service (QHVSS) to access free, confidential information, counselling and support throughout Queensland.

The provision of information, counselling and supportive activities are available to victims and their families at any stage after the initial offence and for as long as needed by victim(s).

Services are provided by experienced professional staff who have knowledge, experience and understanding of the complexities of the forensic mental health system. There are 10 staff members located across offices in Brisbane and Townsville.

The QHVSS aims to provide victims with services that are responsive, compassionate, respectful and confidential to meet individual and family needs.
