ServicesThe Prince Charles Hospital provides a major tertiary level cardiothoracic referral service for Queensland. The cardiac unit is one of the largest cardiac units in the world. This service includes paediatric cardiology and paediatric cardiac surgery for neonates, infants, children and adolescents. A foetal diagnostic service is also provided.
The goal of Queensland Centre for Congenital Heart Disease (QCCHD) is to provide access to effective diagnosis and treatment which is supported by an holistic family centred care approach, thereby giving the child the best possible chance of enjoying a full and healthy life.
The QCCHD provides diagnosis and treatment for neonates, infants, children and adolescents with congenital heart disease. The population served by the unit has a catchment area of Queensland, northern New South Wales, parts of the Northern Territory and the Pacific Rim.

Transplantations are not provided by the Queensland Centre for Congenital Heart Disease service.
Paediatric Cardiology Clinics are provided at these public hospitals twice per year: MT Isa, Mackay, Townsville, Rockhampton, Gold Coast and Toowoomba.
Close service links have been established in Queensland between the Queensland Centre for Congenital Heart Disease and the Royal Childrens Hospital, the Mater Misericordiae Children's Public Hospital, the Mater Misericordiae Mother's Public Hospital, The Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital.
Links have also been established with the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne, Victoria.
