Key Priorities - Workforce Development

Workforce Development

The Queensland Public Health Forum QPHF has identified Workforce Development as a priority issue for action and has subsequently developed the Workforce Development Strategic Statement including the Action Plan. This Strategic Statement considers the evidence and the benefits of an appropriately skilled, sustainable and distributed public health workforce and recommends appropriate actions.

The implementation of this Strategic Statement is the responsibility of the Workforce Development Implementation Working Group which provides progress reports to the Executive. The Working Group has focused on Indigenous Health, and concentrating on

With particular focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander worker health.

QPHF recognises that an appropriately skilled, sustainable and distributed workforce is essential for maximising public health outcomes. Workforce development is guided by strong and sustainable relationships between health and education sectors and is informed by evidence, policy and planning of the broader health system. QPHF has the potential to provide insights into workforce alignment from a range of perspectives.
