How the QPHF works - Organisation and Management

Organisation and Management of the QPHF

The QPHF meets quarterly to discuss and make decisions on key initiatives.  The proceedings are recorded and minutes are distributed to all members.

To enable the effective operation of the QPHF, a representative Executive oversees and provides further direction regarding the progress of the Forum’s work program. The Executive comprises of at least one member from the government members, the non-government members and professional organisation members. The role of the Executive is to provide:

Working groups consisting of QPHF members, staff from member organisations and other individuals with relevant experience from non-member organisations have been established for each of the QPHF identified priority areas.

The role of the working groups is to develop and review the Strategic Statement, progress and monitor the agreed work program and provide regular status reports to the Executive and QPHF.

The Forum and its supporting mechanisms are enabled by a part-time Secretariat.  The key roles of this position are to:

This position supports the achievement of the QPHF objectives through the Executive and the various Working Groups which drive the key priority issues. The Secretariat attends all QPHF, Executive and Working Group meetings and is required to maintain a consistent standard in the application of the guiding principles of the QPHF.

The role of the Secretariat is essential to the day to day functioning and the long term achievement of QPHF objectives.

The QPHF has developed and implemented a specific process for the advancement of a public Health issue.
