Queensland Health Patient Safety and Quality Executive Committee (PSQEC)

About the Executive Committee

The Patient Safety and Quality Executive Committee was established in August 2006 and includes Health Service Districts, medical colleges, advisory bodies, and Executive Management of Queensland Health.

As outlined in the Executive Committee's Charter,  the roles and responsibilities of the Patient Safety and Quality Executive Committee are to:

• Oversee the Queensland Health clinical governance framework;
• Advise the Executive Management Team on all matters relating to patient safety, quality and effectiveness.
• Develop and keep under review a Patient Safety Strategy for Queensland Health;
• Promote improvement in effectiveness of health care;
• Assess Area Health Service responses to safety and quality issues;
• Approve policies and implementation standards relating to patient safety and quality issues.

A Communique is issued following each monthly meeting to keep stakeholders up to date.
