Chest and extremities

An X-ray Operator Chest and Extremities licence is available to registered medical practitioners in metropolitan areas.  In the rural and remote areas of Queensland, it is also available to registered nurses, enrolled nurses and, as approved on a case by case basis by Queensland Health, other health sector employees.  It permits the use of plain film diagnostic radiation apparatus for plain film diagnostic radiography of the chest and extremities up to and including the shoulder and hip.

To apply for a licence, the following steps should be followed:

Submit the completed application form, with verification of qualifications and experience as requested by the licensing criteria information sheet, to Radiation Health.  The prescribed fee must accompany the application.
