Cardiology

Our cardiology department provides consultation services and a range of non-invasive and invasive therapeutic services.  Facilities include general cardiology clinics, a cardiomyopathy and heart failure clinic, and a heart murmur clinic.

Non-invasive investigative and therapeutic services

• 12-lead Electrocardiography
• Exercise Electrocardiography
• Signal-averaged Electrocardiography
• Transthoracic Echocardiography
• 24 hr Ambulatory Monitoring
• Stress Echocardiography
• Event Monitoring
• Transoesophageal Echocardiography
• Cardiac MRI (in collaboration with the Department of Medicial Imaging)
• Cardiac CT (in collaboration with the Department of Medical Imaging)
• Electrical Cardioversion
• 24 hr Blood Pressure Monitoring
• Tilt Table Testing.
  

Invasive investigative and therapeutic services

• Left and Right Heart Catheterisation
• Balloon Valvuloplasty
• Diagnostic Coronary Angiography
• Loop Monitoring
• Percutaneous coronary intervention
• Temporary and permanent pacing
• Intravascular Ultrasound and coronary pressure wires
• Electrophysiology diagnostic and  ablation services
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Insertion
• Implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
