Internal Medicine Services is one of the largest clinical services within the RBWH. It provides a comprehensive clinical service to inpatients and a secondary and tertiary referral service for hospitals and medical practitioners in Queensland, Northern New South Wales and neighbouring countries in the Pacific.

Internal Medicine Services plays a major role in undergraduate and postgraduate education programs for heath professionals This is supported through joint appointments with the Department of Medicine and the University of Queensland.
