University Linkages
The Children's Health Services District’s extensive linkages with Brisbane’s universities for under- and post- graduate placements support high quality student education. The University of Queensland's (UQ) Herston Medical Library on campus provides a comprehensive reference source accessible via the internet for clinical practice and research.

Joint hospital-university appointment of key District staff with the UQ’s geographically close Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, support the provision of high class services. The Centre for Online Health, UQ has been a principal catalyst for the growth of telemedicine in the District.

Collaboration with the UQ's Medicine and Science Faculties has enhanced research development in the District. The Sir Albert Sakzewski Virus Research Centre routinely enters into National Health & Medical Research Council funding rounds, investigations, and research programs with the University of Queensland.
