A florist is located on the Ground Floor of the Dr James Mayne Building, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Food and beverages
The Royal Children’s Hospital provides parents meals to breast feeding mothers. All other parents and visitors must supply their own meals.

People are welcome to bring their own food to the Royal Children’s Hospital however may wish to visit

• Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Food Court
• Café Nescafe, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital

which offer a wide range of contemporary café food and beverages.

Vending machines are located throughout the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Royal Children’s Hospital Working Wonders Café

• located on Level 1 of the RCH Foundation Building
• open 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday and 11.00am to 2.00pm on Saturday and Sunday
• provides a hospital trolley service each weekday

Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Food Court

• located on Level 1 of the Ned Hanlon Building at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
• accessible via the Royal Children’s Hospital’s level 3 walkway.
• open from 7am to 7pm, seven days each week

Café Nescafe, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital

• located on the Ground Floor of the Ned Hanlon Building
• open from 7.30am to 7.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays

Groceries and general goods

• Selected groceries, toiletries and stationery are available from retail facilities at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
• Banks, specialty shops and general food stores are located10 minutes drive from the hospital on Lutwyche Road at the Lutwyche City Shopping Centre
• Snacks and groceries are available from the BP Service Station (corner Bowen Bridge Road and Butterfield Street).

Newsagency
A newsagency complete with a dry cleaning depot service is located on Level 1 of the Ned Hanlon Building at the Royal Brisbane ane Women’s Hospital.

Pharmacy services
The pharmacy located on Level 1 of the Ned Hanlon Building at the Royal Brisbane ane Women’s Hospital is open 7am to 6pm weekdays, and 9am to 3pm weekends.
Services include quality gifts and photo processing services.
Pharmacies are located at all local shopping centres including Lutwyche, Chermside and Aspley.

State Special School
Located on Level 1 of the Woolworths Building, the Royal Children’s Hospital State Special School is a specialist facility run by Education Queensland.
Your child may be eligible to receive hospital educational services if

• They are currently enrolled in a school
• They are medically cleared by hospital staff to receive hospital based educational services
• Their anticipated length of admission is 4 or more school days
• They have a chronic or acute health condition that is anticipated to require more than one period of hospitalisation
• They have a chronic condition and require frequent outpatient visits
• They are a family member of a hospitalised patient who is receiving extended medical attention in a hospital setting and are absent from their normal place of residence. (This criteria is dependent on particular student needs)
• Exceptional circumstances exist.

Parents should confirm that their child meets eligibility requirements by reviewing Education Queensland’s relevant policy available at State Special School Royal Children's Hospital website or phoning 07 3636 7457.

Family packs
The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation generously provides family packs containing many essentials to eligible parents of long-stay patients. Please ask your ward social worker for relevant details.
