The District:

The special purpose Children's Health Services District provides a comprehensive set of health care services to children and young people 0-14 years across Queensland, Northern New South Wales, the nearby Pacific Islands, New Zealand and Japan.

Activity and population trends show that the District is providing primary and secondary level health care services in a geographical area with the most rapidly increasing childhood population in the State, as well as providing tertiary services for the entire State population and selected other areas.

The District undertakes undergraduate post graduate and practitioner training in paediatrics and provides state-wide paediatric speciality services for every specialty in paediatric surgery.
