Service
The Department of Pharmacy provides comprehensive paediatric pharmaceutical services to inpatients and outpatients of the RCH and the Children's Health Services.

Staff also provide advice on the use of medication in children to pharmacists, clinicians and other health professionals outside the Hospital.

Pharmaceutical services include:

• Procurement and distribution of pharmaceuticals
• Outpatient and inpatient clinical services
• Preparation of extemporaneous paediatric formulations
• Preparation of cytotoxic and other specialised sterile drug additives
• Drug information and therapeutic drug monitoring
• Clinical drug trials
• Education and training for staff
• Medication safety initiatives
• Education on quality use of medicines
• Patient medication counselling
