Psychosocial Services Department

The Children's Health Services Psychosocial Services Department comprises six distinct, yet integrated programs that make up the Psychosocial Services grouping:

The department provides a range of services to hospital patients and their familes to enable them to deal with the impact of acute and chronic changes in health on individual and family functioning, and to achieve maximum benefits from health care services.

The Psychology Service provides services to children referred to the Outpatients Department located at the Royal Children’s Hospital. 

Psychology positions form part of multi-disciplinary teams that provide outpatient services together with occasional inpatient or outreach to children with a range of conditions that include

Referrals can be made only by a Paediatrician or Medical Officer from the Royal Children’s Hospital.
