Ellen Barron Family Centre

Service

The Ellen Barron Family Centre provides a free 24 hour specialist residential service to Queensland families with children aged from birth to 3 years, who are experiencing parenting issues of a complex nature.
The Centre provides:

• child and family health information, 
• education, 
• strategies 
• support and 
• linkages to community resources

The centre offers a five day residential program with the multidisciplinary team working in partnership with parents to assist them to address areas of parenting concern.
The centre also offers an extended parenting program for those families with extremely complex parenting problems who are engaged with a number of other agencies in the community.
Areas of education and support may include:

• postnatal difficulties 
• breastfeeding and infant feeding management 
• child growth and development 
• behaviour management and 
• parenting issues.

Referral

Referrals are made by General Practitioners, Paediatricians or Health Professionals.
