Improving referral processes at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) is an important priority in providing timely access to RCH services for paediatric patients. Introduction of pre-referral clinical guidelines to assist in the appropriate journey for the patient is an improvement being implemented to assist in achieving these goals.
The RCH hopes that by providing this support for the clinical management of your patients we will ensure referral at the right time, to the right person, with appropriate preparation for the first consultation.
These guidelines have been reviewed by clinicians within both the RCH and the GP networks. RCH Brisbane also benchmarks these guidelines with clinicians and GP’s from the RCH Melbourne with the intent of providing ‘best practice’ support to our primary care partners. As with all improvement, it has an ongoing nature so your feedback is always valued.
