Service
The Royal Children’s Hospital Department of Orthopaedics is responsible for primary and super-specialist provision of care to children and young people in Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Pacific Rim.

With approximately 1300 orthopaedic inpatient admissions and 6500 ambulatory encounters annually, the orthopaedic service has the largest volume of children with

The Department provides a 24 hour acute trauma service. 

Referral
A medical referral is required.

Telephone Outpatients reception regarding appointments for Public Outpatient Orthopaedic Clinics. 

Contact the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Private Practice clinic to access outpatient services for private patients.

For emergencies, medical practitioners should phone the hospital switchboard on 07 3636 8111 and ask to page the Orthopaedic Registrar.
