Health Systems Development Unit

To support the Executive Director, Reform and Development Division in the statewide coordination and management of surgical, outpatient and emergency department services. The Health Systems Development Unit provides decision support and coordination services to improve patient access to surgical hospital services (particularly specialist outpatient and elective surgery services). This is facilitated by:

Monitoring service capacity and utilisation;
Managing demand through service coordination strategies;
Developing process and information systems to improve efficiency, appropriate practice, and equity of access;
Reporting, analysing, and reviewing performance; and
Guiding the forward planning and ongoing management of services.
