The good we can do really does start with you. 🥰

RBWH, STARS and Redcliffe Hospital were all inundated with stars a-plenty at today's very special Giving Day fundraising event.

The RBWH Foundation supports RBWH, STARS, and other prestigious research institutes and centres at the Herston Health Precinct. Today, along with the Raise it for Redcliffe team at Redcliffe Hospital, they banded together to raise funds and acknowledge the extraordinary efforts involved in providing world-class care here at Metro North Health.

Patients, staff and families had stars in their eyes as they mingled with sporting stars and celebrities and participated in activities throughout the day and lauded the efforts of the teams on this celebratory day.

Dolphins NRL Captain Tom Gilbert caught up with RBWH Foundation ambassador Glen (here with Tom and RBWH Foundation Supporter Emily,) and was delighted to support the special day.

"Days like this ground you," Tom said.

"Even though I've been on the receiving end of medical treatment recently, it's nothing compared to what some of these patients have had to endure."

"Giving Day gives us an opportunity to rally behind the patients and the hospital and come together as a community to give back and get behind these remarkable individuals."

Tomorrow is the RBWH Foundation's annual Giving Day, raising money for RBWH, STARS and Redcliffe Hospital.

Giving Day is the biggest day on the fundraising calendar to raise much needed funds for world-leading research and medical treatments that advance patient care and develop breakthrough therapies that save lives.

Patients who aren't able to be part of the big day tomorrow have been treated to an early surprise with a visit from sporting royalty.

AFLW Premiership Players and RBWH Foundation Ambassadors Shannon, Taylor and Natalie, pictured with patient Niel, visited the STARS Rehabilitation Gym to give Niel an Aussie Rules-themed therapy session.

Physiotherapist Raj said visits like this always lift patient spirits, which can help their recovery. 🫶

"Visits from ambassadors like Shannon, Taylor and Natalie bring joy to patients, their loved ones and our staff and remind us of the importance of therapy sessions in recovery," Raj said.
