Rural Health Advisory Council
Terms of Reference
The Rural Health Advisory Council Terms of Reference are to provide strategic
advice in relation to:
- Contemporary rural health issues including:
- development of Health Service Models
eg Multipurpose Health Services;
- patient transport;
service issues;
- placement of students;
- scholarships;
- rural health training units;
- clinical privileges;
- flying specialist services.
- Recruitment, retention, education and training of rural health workers;
- Health issues and needs for rural communities;
- A whole of government approach to better health;
- Implementation and strategies for advancing rural health policies in
Queensland;
- Consider matters referred by the Minister or Director-General; and
- To recommend specific strategies to address the specific and differing
needs
of rural people.
Medical Sub- Committee
Terms of Reference
The Terms of Reference for the Medical Sub-Committee of the Rural Health
Advisory Council are:
- To consider and advise on medical matters referred by the Rural Health
Advisory Council;
- To provide input on such matters as clinical privileges, placement of
medical students, training of medical staff, and flying specialist services.
- To consider, and provide comment on, service models, clinical policies
and protocols, and standards as they relate to medical practice in remote
and rural Queensland.
- To provide advice on the Commonwealth's programmes for medical practitioners.
- The Medical Sub-Committee meets "back to back" with the Rural
Health Advisory Council.
