"Working for Queensland Health I have seen interesting cases including trauma, snake and spider bites. I have also received more supervision and work experience. The staff and people at the hospital are friendly and there is a great expatriate community. I work with four other people from the United Kingdom so I rarely feel home sick. Since arriving in 2009 I've been whale watching in Hervey Bay, camping on Fraser Island, relaxing on the Gold Coast, and snorkelling on Lady Musgrave Island which was one of the most amazing experiences".

Principal House Officer, Emma Jones made the move from Cardiff Wales to live the dream of a fantastic Queensland lifestyle and career..

"The Capricorn Coast Hospital integrates primary care with community care, all under the one roof, which is great. I love the people, they’re a friendly bunch plus it’s right beside the coast so a nice place to live, to bring up a family and a great place to work.".

Medical student, Bavahuna Manohuna finds the connection between the health service and the community at Capricorn Coast Hospital just as attractive as the location..

"My career as a doctor first started when I went down the rural generalist pathway as a trainee in my medical internship. I completed my internship in Toowoomba Hospital and enrolled in the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine pathway for my training. The training I received from the program in both Toowoomba and more recently Mount Isa has given me the foundation to build a rural medical career. I certainly would never want to loose the rural lifestyle. I love working in the bush, the people have few cares, life is very relaxed and this comes through in their warmth and support".

Doctor, Dr Christopher Buck enjoys the training opportunities and the relaxed lifestyle that working in a rural community can provide..

"My wife and I moved from Iraq to Queensland to further our careers and to create a new safe place to call home. The professional opportunities that were available as a doctor with Queensland Health were amazing. When I started work with the Ipswich Hospital I was so impressed with the friendliness of the people. Every time we reassess our goals and what we are doing, we say coming to Queensland was a great decision".

Junior House Officer, Dr Khalid Jaber is glad he and his wife made the move to Queensland from Iraq and the opportunities that are now available..
