In schools

From 2009 and onwards, female Year 8 students will be offered the free cervical cancer vaccine as part of the routine school-based vaccination program.  The HPV vaccine is a three dose course of vaccine given over a period of 6 months.

If you are a parent or a student in Year 8, information about cervical cancer, human papillomavirus, the vaccine and the HPV program in Queensland is provided in a consent form that will be sent to you through your school.

If a Year 8 student misses a vaccination in the school program, they can receive the free vaccine from a local doctor.  Be aware that you may need to pay a consultation fee.

For young women aged 18-26 years
