Welcome to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital

We’re building a new $1.21 billion, 450-bed tertiary level hospital opening on the Sunshine Coast in 2014.

The hospital will be a world class tertiary facility offering the community a higher level of more complex services than ever before.

The new Sunshine Coast University Hospital will be a teaching and research facility, working together with educational facilities in the area to create an active learning environment.

The hospital will be built on a 20 hectare greenfield site at Kawana, located adjacent to planned retail, residential and commercial developments.

We chose this site because of its close proximity to the Kawana Town Centre and it will be easily accessible by a range of different transport modes.

There is also room for future expansion and growth, including the potential for a private hospital to co-locate.

The hospital is one part of a major expansion of Sunshine Coast health services to meet the future health care needs of a growing region and its people.
