Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service

icon $1.5 billion has been committed to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital program which signals the beginning of a new era for children's healthcare in Queensland.
icon The Lady Cilento Children's Hospital program of works includes the 359-bed Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, Children's Hospital Foundation building, Centre for Children's Health Research, an Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Service building, the provision of land for family accommodation and major improvements to road access around the hospital, and an energy plant.
icon The Ellen Barron Family Centre provides a two-day program to help new parents understand a newborn's sleep and settling issues. It is one of three inpatient programs now available at the Brisbane-based facility.
icon A new allied health model of care has reduced waiting times for patients referred to general paediatrics from 116 days to 19 days by linking children with an allied health professional at the right time.
icon Children's Health Queensland secured Health Workforce Australia funding to deliver the Simulated learning in paediatric allied health training program for allied health students. It aims to improve the competency of new graduate professionals to work in a tertiary paediatric environment, and involves partnerships with seven universities throughout Queensland.
icon The Healthy Hearing newborn screening program provides children with hearing difficulties a pathway to treatment. More than 99 per cent of all infants born in Queensland are now screened by the program.
icon The award-winning Indigenous ear health program Deadly Ears secured $4.1 million in recurrent State Government funding to continue its work across Queensland.
