Hospital and Health Service profiles

Kingaroy Hospital

icon In 2013, 89.5 per cent of patients who presented at the emergency department were admitted, discharged or transferred within four hours, exceeding the National Emergency Access Target of 77 per cent.
icon The increase in dental staff will improve waiting times for services, with the aim of no patients waiting longer than clinically recommended for treatment by the second half of 2014.
icon General surgery at the hospital was reinstated in April 2013—more than three times as many patients received elective surgery in 2013 compared to 2012.
icon Renal services were expanded in July 2013 to treat 18 patients, which means patients no longer need to travel to Toowoomba for dialysis services.
icon In 2014, Kingaroy hosted its first interns as part of the federally-funded Prevocational general practice placements program. The Kingaroy Health Service has previously hosted second-year medial officers as part of this program.
icon Kingaroy Health Service was the busiest non-specialist birthing service in Queensland with 408 births during 2012-13.
