For Australian Universities
-
Contact the Queensland Health facility where you would like students to attend placement. The District Manager's office in each district will be able to give you the details of a Placement Coordinator. If you are from a university outside of Queensland, it is considered courteous to contact your equivalent school at the
university close to where the placements are organised.
-
Ensure that a Student Placement Deed is in place. Most Queensland universities have a Deed in place.
Check here to see if your university has a current Deed.
Note: the Deed is a contract signed at a high level by the university and Queensland Health, and will need to be organised significantly in advance of any placements. Once in place it lasts for five years for all disciplines from your university. See also the
Student Deed template and
Guidelines for completing the Deed .
-
-
Two copies of the Schedules should be signed by your school or faculty followed by the Queensland Health facility, with both parties keeping one copy.

-
The above documentation should be sent to the facility prior to the placement commencing.
-
For nursing placements, payment to the district to cover the cost of a nurse educator may be discussed. See the
payment schedule.
