Early Childhood

Sun protection in places like child care, kindergarten and family day care is essential as 80% of skin damage occurs in the first 20 years of life (NHMRC, 1997).

Early childhood places provide an ideal setting for being sun safe through

• policy development for the service
• educational activity with children, staff and parents/carers and
• environmental changes eg shade creation.
