Information for carers and parents

As a carers or parent, you have a vital role in preventing skin cancer.

Some tips

• Watch the time of day you go outside with your child/ren
• Seek shade while outside
• Cover up – remember protective clothing, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen
• Children don’t need to be intentionally exposed to the sun for therapeutic benefits.

If your child/ren go to early childcare (like family dare care, or a centre), support the service to be sun safe. These behaviours will ultimately benefit your child/ren.
