Secondary Schools can actively implement sun protective practices by
- the development of sun safe policy
- timetabling sport to avoid peak ultraviolet time of day outside, following recommendations in Sun safety for outdoors sports
- creating shade
- recommendation of sun protective clothing, hats and sunglasses as part of the school uniform
- encouraging the use of sunscreen
- incorporating sun safe curriculum into a number of school subjects
- encouraging positive role modelling of staff and parents.
