Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is serious.

Queensland has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world.

The majority of skin cancers can be prevented by

• limiting your exposure to UV radiation from the sun
• seeking shade when outdoors
• wearing sun protective clothing
• wearing a sun protective hat
• wearing sunglasses
• wearing sunscreen.

Queensland has taken a coordinated approach to preventing skin cancer by implementing strategies of the Queensland Skin Cancer Prevention Strategic Plan 2001-2005.
