Finding the Road to Recovery
On 19th May 2005, community members joined staff from The Park -Centre for Mental Health and Integrated Mental Health Service at Ipswich Civic Hall for presentations by consumers, carers and other professionals. The presentations were around the theme 'road to recovery' and provided different prspetives and philosophies about recovery and schizophrenia. The Ipswich Hospital Foundation supported the event.

Christmas at The Park
On 15th December, family and friends, joined consumers and staff to celebrate Christmas at The Park. Santa visited, bringing gifts and Christmas cheer, and following dinner, guests enjoyed Carols by Candlelight. Additional events were held in the Medium Secure and High Security Units on 16 December, where travelling carollers accompanied Santa as he distributed gifts. In addition to individual gifts presented by the Consumer Welfare Association, the Ipswich Hospital Foundation provided for each of the five clinical areas. The Park - Centre for Mental Health, Consumer Welfare Association and Chaplaincy Department organised the events.

Art at The Park
As part of its Mental Health Week celebrations (10 - 16 October 2004) the Consumer Welfare Association, supported by The Park, held the Art Show 2004. Consumers from The Park, Brisbane, Ipswich and Gold Coast Communities displayed and sold their atwork.

The Park celebration of history and culture
On June 22, staff, community members, carers and consumers celebrated National Aboriginal & Islander Day of Observance Committee at The Park, with a display of local Indigenous history and culture.

The Park Journey Towards Recovery
A docu-drama, developed by staff and consumers at The Park, was released during Schizophrenia Awareness Week, illustrating hope for the one in 100 Australians who have schizophrenia. The 17 minute video Journey Towards Recovery was scripted and acted by consumers and staff from a number of the treatment programs. The video is avaialable to the public. Big Night Out
To help raise awareness for Mental Health Week 2003, The Park celebrated with a concert at its Big Night Out. Following a performance by the contenporary theatre group 'Barking Mard', staff and consumers performed original skits to entertain the audience.

Silver Awarded to The Park
At the Queensland Health Staff Excellence Awards on 18 August staff from The Park were presented with a Silver Award in Leadership Excellence for the outstanding leadership shown by them during the redevelopment of mental health services at The Park.
