Community Health Ingham provides a range of services to the Ingham and Hinchinbrook Community, and offers a resource and information service throughout North Queensland.
Home visits are made as far south as Mutarnee, as far west as Abergowrie and as far north as the Cardwell Range. Home visits outside this area are made in special circumstances.
Type of service offered:
Child Health is staffed with a Clinical Nurse. Child Health Services provide a child and school health service (screening, information, education and referral).
Community Health is staffed with a Clinical Nurse, Social Worker and HACC Co-ordinator. They provide information, education, community liaison and development, and counselling for the community. Home Care Services, Family Law Court and Relationship Counselling are also provided through Community Health Services.
Oral Health has a compliment of dental facilities with a Dentist, Dental Technician, Dental Therapist and Dental Nurse. Oral Health also provide a school dental service.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health is staffed with Health Workers and a Clinical Nurse. Here they provide health education and promotion. They liaise between the Aboriginal Community and the Health Services.
The Community Mental Health Team (CMHS) provides a range of services to clients in the short, medium and long term. These include
CMHS consists of a Psychologist, Nurse and Visiting Psychiatrist.The service aims to support people with mental health issues in the community and maintain their independence.
