Eventide was originally built on its present site in 1927.  Since that time the facility has been completely rebuilt to modern, comfortable standards and there is a commitment to provision of excellent care and enhancement of quality of life through recreation and leisure pursuits.

The Nursing Home is air-conditioned.  Residents have single rooms with shared bathroom facilities.  The Nursing Home provides 24-hour services with qualified health professionals.  Residents are able to choose their medical support and other ancillary services available.

Eventide is the second largest aged care facility in Queensland:  with a 140 bed Nursing Home including 10 Psycho geriatric beds and  a 108 bed Hostel. The Psycho geriatric Unit admits people primarily aged 65 years and over who suffer from a mental health disorder complicated by an underlying disorder related to ageing.

Eventide has open visiting hours and demonstrates an emphasis on a relaxed and comfortable environment.  There are no strict routines and the staff care focus is on the needs of the individual and their preference.  Families are encouraged to participate in the activities of residents and be involved in the planning of their care.

The general facilities at Eventide include a Bowling Green, spacious gardens, and safe walking promenades under cover and shady seating areas.

Residents participate in a busy program of recreational activities including participation in local / community clubs and events.
