Ingham Health Services are located 110 kilometres north of Townsville, situated in the Herbert River Valley in Tropical North Queensland. Ingham is part of the Hinchinbrook Shire, the area of the shire is approximately 2,869 square kilometres. It services an area north to the Cardwell Range, south to Rollingstone and West to Mount Fox. The population of the Hinchinbrook Shire is approximately 15,522.
Ingham Hospital is a 30-bed facility located in the Hinchinbrook Shire approximately 110 km north of Townsville.
It provides a secondary level of acute care services to medical and aged patients and some general surgery.
The hospital conducts an Outpatient clinic with minor surgical procedures, immunisations, well-women's clinics and pathology sample collection, basic radiography, weekly ultrasounds and provision of pharmaceuticals.
Outreach services in Respiratory Medicine, Psychiatry, Mental Health, Paediatrics, Surgery and Endoscopy are available at the hospital.
Referral mechanisms are in place for patients requiring tertiary care.
The Community Health component of the hospital includes Nursing, Social Work, Psychology and Mental Health Services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Care and Child Health.
