Referral Process

We welcome written referrals to either specialist by mail or by facsimile. Inter-hospital referrals should be made to the Rheumatology Unit Registrar. Once received, the referral is categorised by the appropriate Specialist.

Category 1: Patient will be given an appointment within 30 days of receipt of the referral
Category 2: Patient will be given an appointment within 90 days of receipt of the referral
Category 3: Patient will be given an appointment after 90 days of receipt of the referral

We endeavour to have patients seen by the multi-disciplinary team within the categorised waiting times to provide optimal care for all patients. Patients are notified by mail of the appointment date.
