The Department of Medical Imaging provides a comprehensive imaging service utilising state of the art equipment in all modalities.

- 5 Staff specialists and 31 qualified Radiographers staff the department
- Currently imaging 78,000 examinations per year, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Procedures
- Almost 100% same day reporting
- fully digital department featuring AGFA PACS. Image distribution is via the web to wards and clinics.
- Provides training for Medical Students, Registrars, Radiographers and General Practitioners
- Tertiary referral centre for Neurosurgery, Radiotherapy, Oncology, Neonatology, Obstetrics, Cardiology and other specialties
- Major trauma centre for Northern Australia and training provided for emergency ultrasound. The emergency Department is actively involved in 1500 patient retrievals per annum.
