Our Operating Theatre at The Townsville Hospital has 10 operating rooms covering all surgical specialties including Cardio-Thoracic, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Paediatrics and Vascular to name a few.
There is a team of about 100 staff: a mix of Scrub Nurses, Anaesthetic Nurses, Post- Anaesthetic Care Unit Nurses and Operating Theatre Assistants - working together in liaison with the Day Surgery Unit, Ward Departments and Medical Staff to provide the best possible service to our patients. We have available Orientation Packages, FYP (First Year of Practice) Placements and from next year we will have in place a Transition Program.
