Surgical Ward 3 is a 24-bed surgical unit specialising in neurosurgery, faciomaxillary and ear, nose and throat (ENT). The unit manages multi-trauma patients as well as routine procedures. It is the only tertiary referral neurosurgery unit outside of Brisbane performing all levels of neurosurgery. The neurosurgery department services a retrieval area the size of NSW, stretching between Rockhampton, Mount Isa, the Gulf, Cape York and Papua New Guinea.

Surgical Ward 3 is predominantly a neurosurgical unit and a low-stimuli area. For the well being of our patients, please keep the number of visitors to a minimum at all times.
