Emergency Dental Services

An emergency clinic operates at the Dental Clinic on Monday to Friday at 8.00 am.  If a dental problem that requires immediate treatment, simply telephone 1300 300 850, and after taking some details, the operator will give you an appointment time, and advise which clinic to attend.  Patients then only need to present at that clinic ten minutes prior to the appointment. Should you have a problem with your denture, you similarly contact 1300 300 850.  Repairs are usually available for collection at 4.00pm the same day.

NOTE: The number of emergency patients who can be seen on any day depends upon the number of dentists available.  If a dental problem develops outside clinic hours, you should phone The Townsville Hospital on 47 961 111 for advice.

General Treatment Services

General Treatment Services are available, but patients are initially placed on a waiting list. If you need to have general treatment e.g. examination, fillings, extractions or dentures, your name will be placed on the waiting list, usually done when you present for emergency treatment.  Appointments for general treatment can not be made directly by telephone.  When your name has reached the top of the waiting list you will receive a letter inviting you to contact the Clinic to make your first appointment.  Should your postal address or contact details change at any time, it is essential that you advise the clinic.

NOTE: Provision of General Treatment is conditional on having adequate numbers of dentists to provide this service.
