The Women’s and Children’s Clinic provides a variety of services to women and children throughout Townsville and the surrounding areas. These services include antenatal, postnatal, emergency review, colposcopy, gynaecology, well-women’s clinics, menopause, private practice, uro-gynaecology, gynaeoncology, medical and surgical paediatric, cleft palate clinic, cystic fibrosis, paediatric cardiology clinic, endocrinology and some visiting paediatric clinics. In addition, Women’s and Children’s reception has an antenatal day assessment clinic for women who are experiencing problems with their pregnancy that need to be assessed but do not need to be admitted to hospital.
In general, women requiring antenatal care are referred from their general practitioner to The Townsville Hospital for pregnancy care. Self-referral is acceptable for a first visit to the antenatal clinic. You will be sent a booking-in appointment and at your booking in appointment, you will be asked about how and with whom you would like your antenatal care.
Access to the Women's and Children's Clinic is through the primary reception area.
Women's and Children’s reception and the children’s play area are located on the ground floor, easily located adjacent to the major reception area.
