Children's Health Services - Building the Network

 Artists impression

The Prince Charles Hospital is now home to a $45.6 million dollar facility providing specialist children's health services to Brisbane's growing northside community.

The new services, based around family-centred care, include a dedicated children's emergency department with a separate entrance and waiting room, 12 paediatric treatment spaces, 20 inpatient beds for same-day and overnight stays, and specialist outpatient clinics.

Services will expand over the next 12 to 18 months.

The introduction of specialist children's services at The Prince Charles Hospital is part of Queensland Health's vision and commitment to strengthening the children's health service network in hospitals around the State so families can receive convenient, high quality services as close to home as possible.
Expanded children's health services at Ipswich, Logan, Caboolture, Redcliffe and Redland will also occur over the next four years.
