Community to have improved input into Wide Bay healthcare

PEOPLE will have a greater say in planning, delivery and evaluation of healthcare across the Wide Bay through a new network of community groups being set up by the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Board.

ORAL health patients have plenty to smile about across the region with the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service reducing wait times and expanding services.

WITH 14 Wide Bay residents reporting salmonella gastroenteritis from a school principal conference in Brisbane, WBHHS public health unit director Margaret Young has moved to reassure people that it is not commonly spread from person to person.


New nurses for WBHHS

New nurses join the Wide Bay team

THE nursing team at Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service facilities has received a boost with an additional 52 post graduates appointed across the service at the start of 2015. The post graduates are split evenly across the WBHHS with 26 based on the Fraser Coast and 26 appointed to Bundaberg and the rural facilities.


New bariatric stretcher

WBHHS and QAS join to provide transport for bariatric patients

PATIENTS weighing up to 300kg can now be transported in the Bundaberg area thanks to a new agreement between the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service and the Queensland Ambulance Service.
