The Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS) provides health care for more than 200,000 residents of the Wide Bay and the thousands more who visit the region each year to enjoy the attractions and the climate.

Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Maryborough all have first class hospitals that deliver quality and sustainable public health services in the major population centres. Health care in the rural areas is delivered through a network of  eight regional health facilities which are located in each of the principal towns.

More than 3000 dedicated WBHHS staff work to deliver patient-centred care daily in an environment that is safe and secure. The WBHHS Strategic Plan 2014-2017 (PDF, 1.1Mb) provides a framework for investment and planning that will expand our services and our capacity as demand for them in the Wide Bay increases. There are challenges ahead but for the WBHHS, along with the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Board which provides community governance and strategic leadership for the health service, the vision is one of improving health together.
