Queensland Health is the state government-run health department, looking after the needs of four million Queenslanders.

With a workforce of more than 60 000 people, Queensland Health is one of the nation’s largest public service organisations. We deliver a broad range of health services in a diverse range of work environments across the State.

From large, technologically advanced tertiary hospitals in our metropolitan and regional cities, to community health centres servicing rural, remote and Indigenous populations, Queensland Health offers comprehensive health care across the length and breadth of the State.

Our range of services includes:

Acute care in our major tertiary hospitals
Acute and community-based mental health services
Oral health care
Primary health care for mothers, babies, rural, remote and Indigenous communities
Chronic disease management through our hospitals and community health centres
Allied Health services including Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and more

Queensland is the second largest and most decentralised state in Australia. The booming population and economy is presenting key challenges for the public health system.
